Teeth Whitening Antalya
When it comes to judging the attractiveness of a smile, the size, shape and colour of the teeth play a very important role. A healthy and aesthetic smile makes you happy and, above all, strengthens your relationships with others and your self-confidence.
TEETH WHITENING
Some teeth have an internal discolouration due to congenital causes or the use of medication such as antibiotics. But factors such as daily eating and drinking (tea, coffee, fruit juices, wine) and smoking can also cause our teeth to lose their natural whiteness and become discoloured.
Teeth whitening is a treatment that helps to lighten the discolouration of tooth enamel caused by various factors.
APPLICATION OF THE TOOTH WHITENING TREATMENT
Before the whitening process, tartar and discolouration are removed by polishing. The whitening method specified by the dentist is then applied, depending on the patient’s specific wishes.
The whitening process takes about an hour. The oral tissue is lightly coloured with a light-curing barrier.
After separation, a special bleaching agent is applied to the teeth. The treatment is painless and simple. Depending on the tooth colour, several repetitions may be necessary.
IS TOOTH WHITENING HARMFUL?
Teeth whitening carried out under the supervision of a dentist and using suitable methods has been proven to be harmless, apart from a temporary sensitivity disorder lasting 1–2 days.
Tooth whitening does not cause any permanent damage and does not change the tooth structure.
WHAT NEEDS TO BE CONSIDERED AFTER TOOTH WHITENING?
The most important thing after whitening is to avoid food and drink containing colouring substances.
Avoid drinks (tobacco, wine, beetroot juice, tea, coffee, cherry juice, etc.) for a few days (preferably a week).
After the bleaching procedure, most patients experience hypersensitivity that lasts no longer than 2–3 days.
This sensitivity disappears in a maximum of 3 days. Very cold food and drink should be avoided for the first few days. Taking a simple painkiller before and after the procedure can help to minimise this sensitivity. Using a desensitising paste recommended by your dentist can also alleviate this problem.
HOW LONG CAN I USE IT AFTER TOOTH WHITENING?
The result and duration of teeth whitening depend on the structure of the teeth and the patient’s habits (brushing, smoking, tea, coffee and wine consumption, etc.) and remain constant for about 2 years. After this period, tooth whitening can be repeated.
